Healthy Choices

The heart of our nursery is the kitchen, both literally and figuratively. All of our rooms flow around this fundamental central point. At the Mulberry Bush we are totally committed to healthy eating from when our babies start weaning. Our children are able to sample different tastes and textures while enjoying healthy, homemade meals and snacks which will lay the foundations for an understanding and enjoyment of healthy eating, hopefully forever!

“Healthy eating and physical activity are essential for proper growth and development in childhood. To help children develop patterns of healthy eating from an early age, it is important that the food and eating patterns to which they are exposed – both at home and outside the home – are those which promote positive attitudes to good nutrition. “

Welcome to The Mulberry Bush – Locks Heath

Developing the Mulberry Bush

The Mulberry Bush is continuing to go from strength to strength!
In 2016 our original Locks Heath nursery underwent a huge transformation with the construction of a whole first floor extension. This doubled the space available to the Elderberries (3-5yrs) and Raspberries (2-3yrs). The new rooms were beautifully designed to provide wonderful additional spaces for both age groups, full of natural light. This also enabled us to provide bespoke sensory rooms for each age group for their sole use.

In Summer 2018 the Mulberry Bush opened our second setting in Bitterne Park, Southampton. This state of the art, bespoke nursery setting has exceeded all expectations and we are pleased to be welcoming new families to the Mulberry Bush every day. Please return to the Home page for further information.

Our Locks Heath nursery then under went further improvement in early 2020 with an extension to the Blueberries and Strawberries areas (3 months – 2 years). And a renovation of the whole nursery garden including a new area specifically for the under 2s.

And there’s even more……!
In the new year of 2020 the Mulberry Bush launched a fully renovated new Mulberry Bush nursery in Waterlooville.

We hope that you can find lots of information within our website that will give you a good idea of who we are and what we have to offer you and your children. If you have any further questions or would like to come and visit our nursery, please give us a call on 01489 583 130 or via our contact page. We would be delighted to help you in any way that we can.
