The Mulberry Bush

Elderberries Locks Heath had a special visit from Tinks the hedgehog. Elderberries have been learning all about hedgehogs and hibernation as part of their interest in Autumn. They learnt that pet hedgehogs don't hibernate, they really like to stay warm and they enjoy eating dry worms. They were especially surprised to find out that Tinks loves warm baths. Tink had a lovely warm bath which meant that Tink relaxed all her spikes and this meant that the children were able to give her a lovely stroke. ...

Healthy Choices

The heart of our nursery is the kitchen, both literally and figuratively. All of our rooms flow around this fundamental central point. At the Mulberry Bush we are totally committed to healthy eating from when our babies start weaning. Our children are able to sample different tastes and textures while enjoying healthy, homemade meals and snacks which will lay the foundations for an understanding and enjoyment of healthy eating, hopefully forever!

“Healthy eating and physical activity are essential for proper growth and development in childhood. To help children develop patterns of healthy eating from an early age, it is important that the food and eating patterns to which they are exposed – both at home and outside the home – are those which promote positive attitudes to good nutrition. “

Welcome to The Mulberry Bush – Locks Heath

Developing the Mulberry Bush

2017 was a very exciting year for the Mulberry Bush with the opening of an entirely new first floor! This has doubled the space available to the Elderberries (3-5yrs) and Raspberries (2-3yrs). The new rooms have been beautifully designed to  provide a wonderful additional space for both age groups, full of natural light. This has also enabled us to provide bespoke sensory rooms for each age group for their sole use.

And there’s more…….

The Mulberry Bush is excited to announce that we will be opening our second setting this spring! Our new site in Bitterne Park, Southampton is currently in development. Please return to the Home page for further information.

We hope that you can find lots of information within our website that will give you a good idea of who we are and what we have to offer you and your children. If you have any further questions or would like to come and visit our nursery, please give us a call on 01489 583 130 or via our contact page. We would be delighted to help you in any way that we can.
