Menus - Locks Heath

Our fabulous cook Carol has prepared our new menus, here is a sample menu.

We also have weaning menus for babies. These too are all homemade with the very best of ingredients. Please feel free to request a copy.

Please call us on 01489 583130 if you have any questions regarding meals.

Special Dietary Requirements

Please let us know if your child has any special dietary requirements and we will happily adapt our menus to suit their needs.

Healthy Choices

The heart of our nursery is the kitchen, both literally and figuratively. All of our rooms flow around this fundamental central point. At the Mulberry Bush we are totally committed to healthy eating from when babies start weaning. Our children are able to sample different tastes and textures while enjoying healthy, homemade meals and snacks which will lay the foundations for an understanding and enjoyment of healthy eating, hopefully forever!

Our ambition to provide the very best food for our children, and for educating them about Healthy Choices was recognised in 2017 when our Locks Heath nursery won the Nursery World Award for Food! This is a national award and we are hugely proud of this great achievement!

“Healthy eating and physical activity are essential for proper growth and development in childhood. To help children develop patterns of healthy eating from an early age, it is important that the food and eating patterns to which they are exposed – both at home and outside the home – are those which promote positive attitudes to good nutrition. “

Nutritionally balanced:

In order to help ensure that the children in our care at the Mulberry Bush have the best possible diet we work with state registered paediatric dietitian & public health nutritionist Rebecca Weeks (BSc Hons RD, Msc PHN). Rebecca helps us to structure nutritionally balanced and appealing menus for the children. Under Rebecca’s guidance we work with the measures set out by the Children’s Food Trust and the Caroline Walker Trust (CWT), leading experts in nutrition for children in child care.

Our menus offer a balanced and healthy breakfast, mid morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack (optional) and two course afternoon tea every day. They offer a healthy, tasty, well balanced diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables, good quality protein and starchy carbohydrate and a huge array of flavours.

For further information please feel free to request a copy of our food and nutrition policy and/or our weaning policy.
