Holly Smith

Company Director, Director of Early Years for the Mulberry Bush Nurseries

Holly completed her PGCE in Primary Education with an Early Years Specialism in 2008 and spent the following 13 years gaining experience and knowledge within the Early Years Sector. Having worked as a teacher in an outstanding school Holly felt her passion was to dedicate her career to working with those following the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

Having been with The Mulberry Bush for four years, she has been crucial in implementing best practice that has seen the business go from strength to strength. Having previous experience of managing a preschool Holly was able to work as manager of both the Locks Heath setting and then Bitterne Park, during the instrumental early months where she instilled and implemented The Mulberry Bush ethos. When the third setting, Waterlooville, was purchased Holly, having been promoted to Director, was in a strong position to be able to assist in the refurbishment of the site, implementation of best practice and hiring and training the staff.

As Director, on a day to day basis, Holly has sole responsibility to ensure that all three nurseries maintain the high quality standard the Mulberry Bush prides itself. Part of this is also ensuring that, at all times, we are Ofsted compliant. Holly is also responsible for driving the quality of the product forward and also ensuring that the organisation is at the fore-front of the latest thinking and ideas withing the sector. From designing and resourcing enabling and exciting environments for children to thrive in, to hiring and mentoring passionate staff and creating and delivering inspirational training sessions, Holly takes pride in the fact that she fully immerses herself in all aspects of the company.  In addition, she oversees and mentors the management teams thereby ensuring that she drives forth developments for each setting, working alongside outside agencies to help enable the company to continue to grow whilst retaining its highly acclaimed reputation.
